Sean Heather, household name and well known owner of a few notable eateries (Irish Heather Gastropub, Salty Tongue Deli, Salt Tasting Room), has recently unveiled his newest accomplishment- Judas Goat Taberna. With the opening delayed by weeks, the launch of the new tapas bar at the beginning of March was eagerly watched by foodies, bloggers and gourmet guzzlers alike. And judging by the reviews the new Spanish style Tapas bar did not disappoint.

Located on the historic Blood Alley in Gastown, Judas Goat has its name based on the myths of the butchery in this region. Although Gastown is known among locals for its abundance in the homeless and drug addict outbursts, this is a problem is steadily diminishing as pedestrian traffic slowly increases... Soon the real dilemma will be trying to find a seat in this busy establishment! Seating just over twenty people Judas Goat has a busy, cozy and vivacious atmosphere perfect for a date or small group. The service and menu both reflect the high standard of perfection held by Sean Heather, and reviews show that this is a custom diners at the Taberna can get used to.

With a good reputation only set to intensify, it is highly recommended that you make a reservation before arriving. Casual arrivals will be accommodated, however if there is no seat available you will be politely directed to one of the other Heather establishments close by for drinks or entrees until a table is available.

Broadway. A street littered with stylish coffee bars, known for trendy shops, elegant boutiques and tasteful restaurants. It is here that you can find ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’, a hidden gem amongst the hustle and bustle. Only open for 4 months the consignment store is making a name for itself as a location focused on beauty both in the sense of surface beauty and that found within.

When visiting ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ I had expected just another vintage store, soon to become part of the blur of all the shops I have visited lately. But instead ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ left a lasting impression. Carol puts a large amount of effort into forming personal relationships with her clients, creating a comfortable and personal atmosphere, as she helps them find pieces that suit their style, budget and body shape. ‘Dressing is supposed to make you feel good’ was something she said to me, that really hit the nail on the head in terms of her aim to her clients.

Something that sets her store apart is her programs focussing on self esteem, how to dress for your body type and other areas of interest to aspiring fashionistas or for those in search of guidance.  As well as this I was also interested in the e-mailing program she offers. You sign up your e-mail address, state the top three items you most interested in (this may be brand, style, size, etc) and Carol will e-mail you as soon as anything new matching this description arrives!

‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ is open seven days a week, with a price range from 25-75% of the normal retail price dependant on condition, brand and size. There is a large stock base, with movement towards an eclectic style of middle-eastern silks, Vancouver designers, and higher end brands. It’s a place to go when in search of seasoned fashion statements or even just some friendly conversation.

You find and contact ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ at:
3117 West Broadway, Vancouver
