Brenda, the visionary behind the Travellers Deck concept, is a massive Glowbal fan (as you would expect since they are featured in our "Best 100 Local Places to Eat & Shop in Vancouver"!). To celebrate a revamp that the Yaletown restaurant is currently going through, they are holding a fun facebook competition that's all about finding out what peoples best Glowbal memory is. More details here.

So, to join in on the fun....Brenda describes her favourite Glowbal memory. Enjoy!

"I was meeting a client for the first time and invited him to Glowbal in Yaletown for lunch. He is an internationally renowned “nude” photographer who has photographed some of the top models around the world and has won numerous awards for his work.

It was a perfect Spring day in Vancouver and we were seated outside the patio on Glowbal’s comfy white faux leather banquette style bench seats. Our server was a beautiful, classy red head who I always refer to as Vancouver’s version of “Nigela.” I told her I was a regular here, but it was my client’s first time to the city and asked her for a few suggestions or something special that was not on the menu.

She described my favourite spaghetti and Kobe meatballs to visual and tactile perfection and had us salivating at the sound of the Trio of Creme Brulee by the time she was done with us. Despite the restaurant being packed as it normally is on a sunny Spring day, she took the time to offer us some complimentary nibbles between our courses.

Her timing was always impeccable and I felt like royalty as she catered to our needs perfectly! My client was so overwhelmed by the hospitality he asked her for her number several times during the meal and she finally gave it to him!

My tip for everyone: If you want to impress a client, go for brunch, lunch or dinner at Glowbal and look for the gorgeous red-head. She’ll make your deals come true! : ) P.S. By the way, my client became a client for life thanks to Glowbal!"
